About the Cottage
Your Cottage
Little Lonnie’s wooden panelled walls and ceilings, tiled floors, wood burning stove and butler sink, will provide you with a tastefully decorated and furnished place to relax. Ideal for couples, but able to accommodate up to four people, Little Lonnie is a welcoming cottage that will keep you warm and cosy in the evenings. The cottage will be an excellent base for your daytime excursions, or, if you prefer to sit and paint, read or write, inspiration will be yours whether admiring the panorama from inside the cottage, or making the most of the views from the grounds.
The Grounds
Little Lonnie has a 2 acre fenced area of rough ground surrounding the little cottage. The grounds have been left for a wildlife-friendly area to establish. No chemicals are used on the garden, and as a result a wide range of wildlife can be found including buttercups, broadleaved doc, common sorrel, rose, rhubarb, and a variety of grasses including crested dog's tail, Yorkshire fog, perennial rye grass and cock's foot. Close views of wild rabbits are seen from the kitchen window most nights. Views from the garden are uniterrupted, and birds such as oystercatchers, curlews, wrens, hooded crows, ravens and short eared owls are regular visitors. Historic remains of the old listed barn are visible close to the cottage. Rare lichens and invertebrates occupy this area.
Specifications
Little Lonnie is a well-equipped one bedroom cottage with kitchen/living room and shower room. It has a porch area with space for a little storage.
The bedroom has a double bed and an open clothes rail and wardrobe.
The living area is set off by the lovely wood burning stove, which gives out lots of heat that warms the whole cottage. The living room has a comfortable sofa bed, coffee table, dining room table and chairs. Excellent views from the windows.
The kitchen has a fridge, hob (Calor gas), separate oven (electric) and butler sink.
There is an electric storage heater in the lounge and bedroom should you require extra heat.
Looking after you
Your housekeeper will be able to assist you with any enquiries during your stay. Details available upon booking.
The telephone at Little Lonnie will allow incoming and emergency services calls. Reception is reasonable for most mobile services.
Self Catering
For your everyday needs during your stay, the island has a few shops and two bars with restaurants. Fresh, local veggies and eggs are sold at these shops or direct from the Rendalls at Lady Village.
